What does a main user mean?
For individuals, a main user is the owner of the account who uses its active services.
For legal entities, a main user is a user whose contact details can be found in the contact information section. This person manages servers and gets in touch with customer care and support specialists.
What does an additional user mean?
You can add this person's contact details to your account so that our specialists can contact them in case of server issues if the main user is not available.
Why do I need an additional user?
An additional user can do the following:
1) Log in to a billing system.
2) In the billing system, they can take actions limited by the user permissions you have set. You can set several categories of user permissions. You can also choose the services that additional users can use. There are 3 categories of service access. Additional users can be banned from using services, use all services, or use certain services chosen by the main user. The same goes for tickets. If you set a certain set of services additional users can use, they won't be able to create or view the tickets related to other services.
3) Additional users can do almost everything that a main user can do, with the exception of managing global security setting, SSH-keys and the like.
4) Additional users can set a password, a code word, and view their own login history and current sessions.
5) Not only the main user can view their own login history and current sessions, but they can also view those of additional users, and log them out of the billing system.
6) If you add additional users without granting them access to the user account, we won't email them a password.
7) If you add additional users and grant them full or partial access to the user account, we will email them a password.
How can I add an additional account user?
Go to My account -> My users -> click on the Add new user button.
How can I set up notifications for additional accounts?
Go to My account -> Notifications. There you can select the notification type your additional account users will receive.
